Earl is Alive!
The Schmidt Family kindly sent me photographs of the own living Earl. Here is their story:
“When we bought the book Earl the Squirrel for our daughter, it became one of her favorites. We never imagined that this book would actually happen in real life! We were playing outside one day and a baby squirrel followed us home. Of course my daughter named him Earl! For a brief time, we nursed Earl back to health. Then we moved Earl to a farm where he could be tame yet free. Recently, Earl visited a preschool. He wore his red scarf while the teacher read this story to the class. Here are some pictures of our Earl the squirrel.”
“Yes, they are the real photos of our Earl. Our friends who live in the country and take care of Earl now made a scarf for him and took those pictures. Earl is definitely one spoiled squirrel! He is treated like a family pet and even gets treats!”
